President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiades, chose Webarts to undertake the online promotion of his pre-campaign of 2018. It was a big challenge for us as there were some very important peculiarities and parameters that did not apply to any of our other customers.
A political campaign demonstrates in a much more intense way, the basic principle of Social Media: that they are not just a means of promoting our product message in order to send it to as many people as possible, but a tool that helps us to be effective, to offer value and create a relationship with our consumers, who struggle every day to escape the noise of uninterrupted marketing.
Once again, the importance of the right content, the right targeting, the creativity and the value we offer to consumers is proving to be important.

Nikos Anastasiades needed a custom made website for his presidential campaign, ensuring that it was aligned with his campaign's messaging and was consistent across all media. After executing research, our web design & development team was able to develop a well-designed new website that was essential for the success of the election campaign as the “home” for all of the president’s communications, representing all of the ideas and personality of his potential supporters.
Developing and implementing a fully strategical plan that outlined goals and tactics before launching was crucial, prior to creating content. Before starting to analyze every step of the campaign journey, Nikos Anastasiades needed to establish a social media presence that he could maintain throughout the election campaign. Following the given guidelines, we were able to start creating content that would develop a positive image of the president, and create a strong buzz about him. The content created aimed to engage the wide spectrum of supporters, taking into consideration demographic and personal characteristics.
Landing Pages Campaigns
Our campaigns were related to different subjects so we included in our tactics the design of Landing Pages, Google, and Facebook Ads to target the supporters. To achieve our goals, the newly designed Landing Pages on specific subjects such as economy, foreign policy, and defense policy, needed to be simple, yet at the same time, informative. As a result, we managed to gain 100 000 visitors to our landing pages.
Social Media Monitoring
Social media monitoring was a very important tool for the campaign as we listened to what was being said about the president across the internet each day. With an algorithm-based tool that crawls sites and continuously indexes them, Nikos Anastasiades had the ability to know each day where he had been mentioned through different social and online channels.
The president needed to make personal connections with his supporters and email was one of the best options for doing this. Those emails allowed us to send real-time messages that strengthened supporters' engagement, retention, and more importantly loyalty.
Ads & Performance Reporting
Our performance executives were in charge of managing the ads on Facebook & Google for Nikos Anastasiades’ election campaign, in order to devise effective strategies that would help to reach the campaign’s goals. Daily, weekly and monthly reports were created; analyzing campaign results while extracting important conclusions for the progress of the campaign.
