Can A Site Be Protected from Such Changes?

In theory yes, but it isn’t as simple as just putting up a shield. The only way to protect your site from the effects of Google’s updates is to make sure that from one end to the other it plays by the rules and is a shining beacon to your industry. This doesn’t mean you can’t use SEO to get ahead, but does mean that any SEO you use must be hard-fought, organic and honest. Is It Possible to Survive If Penalized?

It is indeed, but it can be a long and painful process. It all begins with removing all offending items that could have prompted your punishment in the first place, which must then be followed by a slow and steady replacement with the kind of stuff Google actually likes. It’s a slow process and it will take time but stick with it and the rewards could be potentially huge. Also, it is the only really viable way to survive in today’s search engine optimization world. And even then, there’s no guarantee that you haven’t been blacklisted for life and would in theory be better off cutting your losses and starting again. As such, it goes without saying that prevention is far better than cure and you’re always so much better off safeguarding your site in the first place with all the necessary measures.
